Nilaveli Beach

A sensational beach located on the northeast coast of the island is Nilaveli Beach, Sri Lanka. North of Trincomalee, this gorgeous beachfront is perfect for relaxing and unwinding. It remains tranquil and deserted, with golden sand and blue-green water. The calm waves roll over a shallow depth, inviting visitors to walk in the crystal-clear water. Alternatively, they can simply take a dip in the warm sea.

Hardly any fishing boats disrupt the scene, as the shore is too shallow for such ‘floatables.’ This haven is home to seagulls, turtles, fish, wild prawns, oysters, lobsters, crabs, calamari, and other exotic creatures. Various atmospheric seasons determine which of these species will frequent or proliferate, ready to be caught by fishermen.
